2010 Summer Camp Minimize

Full Summer

The full summer option allows a camper to attend camp any day during our full eight weeks of summer camp. This is a convenient and cost saving option for families who know in advance that they will spend most of their summer here.  By choosing this option, one essentially receives a free week of camp.

Full Summer with lunch

This lunch option allows a family to never have to worry about packing a lunch. Please refer to the lunch day options to see which meals are served on which days.

Weekly

The weekly option is the best choice for families whose children will spend at least four days on any given week with us.  The fifth day is essentially free.

Daily

The daily option allows families the most freedom in choosing days throughout the summer however the daily rate is more expensive than any of the other options. This is a good option for families who look to our camp as somewhere for their kids to occasionally go throughout the summer when situations dictate a need for their kids or for something fun to do. Blocks of days may be purchased, and you will be asked to choose the days your child is attending. To purchase individual days, one must come into the office.

Half Day - Week

The half-day week option allows a family additional flexibility in regards to work schedules and other summertime commitments such as camps, and schools.  We do not offer this 1/2 program for individual days.  Because our lunch each day requires such a large effort amongst our entire staff, ½ day campers day will end before lunch, or start after lunch.  Under certain arrangements one may request to stay through lunch for an additional fee.

LIT Program
Our Leader-In-Training program allows our older campers, and kids who have been with us for many years, a unique opportunity to still enjoy camp, while also acquiring the skills to perhaps one day work here. These limited spots are secured first by children whose families have been loyal to the Boys & Girls Club, and a high priority is given to the kids who we’ve seen mature and who show the potential for leadership skills. We have also been known to offer several of these spots each year to kids who may not ordinarily jump out to us as leaders, but kids who need a chance and ones who could benefit from this positive environment more than one who may be given every advantage in life. Our staff works directly with this group to ensure they have fun, while also being placed in positions to help.  Campers going into 9th, 10th and 11h grade may register for this program; a selection process takes place throughout the spring months. This program is limited due to the number of campers and staff ratios. In the past, up to 50 kids have participated in this program in any given year.

*all of our summer camp options require advanced registration, by midnight of the Thursday before the following week, in order to qualify for the posted pricing.  Additional fees will be added for late registrations.

In Addition Minimize

Extended Day

The extended day is intended for families who simply cannot get here by 5pm, registration is required.  These campers are allowed an additional swim time between 5 and 6pm, and must be picked up by 6pm at the pool.

Late Pickup

Families who do not register for the extended day, but who pick up their children after 5pm, will be assessed a $25 late pickup charge that must be paid prior to their child’s next day of camp. This holds true for extended day families who do not pick up by 6pm. If you are running late, a phone call is appreciated. With 150-200 campers daily, it is very common for a handful of campers to get picked up late each day.   Unfortunately, over the years we’ve been taken advantage of too many times, and often by the same handful of families, that we feel it necessary to implement this new policy.  Nine and ten hours of your children being with us, out in the hot sun, is enough, and we appreciate your willingness to respect the staff’s personal time and do what you have to, to get here on time. Please allow yourself enough time, and plan accordingly for traffic issues.

Lunch

This year we will offer an option to include lunch four days each week for $5.00, and the fifth day we’ll be going into town for lunch. Lunch includes the daily meal, a drink and a snack. We’re feeding in bulk, and it is difficult to accommodate the fussy eaters and ones with special dietary concerns.  Please reach out to us if you have concerns. We will offer a separate lunch table for those campers with peanut allergies, and work with families to ensure the safety of all campers as it relates to food allergies.
